what a turd bucket

I heard something this morning about our old dear pal, Nick Saban.  Seems that he was "possibly" interested in coming back to coaching in the NFL if the right situation presented itself. A situation that included a top-notch QB.

Then I heard a quote attributed to him, from September: "If the Dolphins had signed Drew Brees, I'd still be coaching in Miami."

Ummmm.  That ranks right up there as one of the dumbest comments I've heard (from a coach, anyway -  there are plenty of dumb comments in an election year!!!).  It was *his* decision not to sign Brees.  And when he left, he made statements about not liking how he was treated, particularly by the press.  And his wife was making comments about having felt like a prisoner in Miami.

Sure, you would have stayed.  Not.

Dave, I think Saban will go down as one of the best college football coaches. He failed with the Dolphins and I think the experience sharpened his focus at Alabama. Besides the winning, Saban develops NFL-ready players.
