Heads or Tails

Heads

Belichick tried to kill two birds with one stone. He exclusively ran the ball in the first half, hoping to exploit a Dolphins weakness and to protect his quarterback. The Patriots needed to win home field advantage in the playoffs.

The Dolphins came to play and did what few teams have done, outsmart Belichick! The Dolphins  combination of aggressiveness on both sides of the ball and great individual plays made the Patriots pedestrian.

The fans and the Florida sun wore out the Patriots. Midway through the second half, Belichick realized his predicament and resorted to a passing attack, watching his quarterback get man-handled.

Tannehill actually had one of his better performances and quieted critics of his deep ball capaabilities. The wide receiver duo of Jarvis Landry and Devante Parker are keepers!

Tails

It’s so wrong! A loss could have vaulted the Dolphins into one the top five draft picks.

Where was this kind of football when it still mattered? Now, a Pyrrhic victory at the end of a lost season. Were the Dolphins playing for themselves, knowing wholesale personnel moves had already begun or were they playing for the next contract/team? Who knows with this team.

Tally Ho! Let the hounds after the fox, Jason Fox, that is! He played like he knew that a loss was good for the draft and almost succeeded in getting his quarterback smashed.

I'LL TAKE THE HEADS. AT THIS POINT MY ONLY JOY IN WATCHING FOOTBALL WILL BE SEEING THE PATRIOTS LOSE. MAKING IT HARDER FOR THEM TO PLAY EVERY PLAYOFF GAME AT HOME ONLY HELPS.

AS FOR THE DRAFT PICK, I'M NOT SURE THE POSITION MATTERS... I EXPECT THIS FRONT OFFICE TO SCREW UP THE PICK NO MATTER WHAT POSITION.

Draft picks!!! your kidding right? Getting rid of Hickey and doubling down on Tannenbaum means that the piggy bank will be empty with overpaid divas like Sanchez and Suh. I have started to make a list of people to follow to other teams. Talented people who the Dolphins have cast off. Hickey is one of them. It's very possible I might not be a fan of the team next year if they get rid of all the good people and keep all the New Yorkers.

linearz, I'll be rooting against the Pats, too! Upstart KC will be fun to watch. Will also root for the Bengals McCarron because I'm an Alabama/Saban fan. His players come into the league NFL-ready.

mattbatt, the Dolphins need an infusion of talent on the offensive line. That would fix much of what ails this team. I respectfully disagree with your position that Suh is an overpaid diva. He's one of the top-ranked NFL interior defensive linemen.

For the positions Miami needs to fill, I think the 8th pick will still be fine. Like I've said before, what's important is that they find that mid-round talent. Anyone can pick a good first rounder (except Miami, apparently). Hopefully a new GM will fix Miami's bad drafting issues.

Ill take heads and tails. Why do we always wait to play hard when the season is in the can? But I love Tom Brady getting a taste of defeat. Belicheck thought he could ram the ball down the Ds throat and in the 2nd he panicked when he saw he was wrong. That was awesome. However I would prefer the best draft spot we could get so it is a little bitter sweet. But all in all it is what it is and were picking 8th AND we whooped Tom Brady. All things considered, good week in Miami.
