Why so high on 17 ?

So, I just want to know why with every game that passes everyone always defends Tannehill, he does some good things, he shows a glimmer of hope and skill, but there is also the fat too many times when he doesn't come through.  So I just don't understand when I don't defend him and see through his mistakes that everyone seems to back him up like he is a franchise stud who proves himself.  Stat, he went 25-41 for 1 touchdown and didn't have a horrible game vs NY but the kicker is, when they needed him the most late in the game to close the gap, tie or even take a lead he went three and out.  That has happened all too often while he has been the QB of the Dolphins.  Does he deserve another chance under a new system, yes.  But what if it's the same 17 then what ? do we still defend him because we are that desperate ?

They been not using him rigth,They should have him rolling out more and they should let him change plays at the start of the season.I blame failbin Sherman and lazor and ther still doing lazor plays,That's why Campbell won't get this job he should of made Al sauders o coordinator we would have won the Dallas game and the giants game,He would have used Lamar Miller like preist homles in KC.That's why Campbell won't get this job he shot him self in the foot.

Lmao..Taylor and Landry are the only reason we lost that game plan and simple!!O'Dell 80yrd TD from Jamar Taylor's blown coverage and Landry PF on the last drive cost us.I understand that tannehill overthrown Landry on the last play but can't put the whole game on him or even half BC he had a decent game!!

Tannehill left two touchdowns on the field because he overthrew his receivers! Grimes is an absolute liability! These big receivers are eating him up. Teams are nullifying the pass rush with these quick short passes. Our coaches are not ready for prime time! They need to play bump and run not play off of the receivers the way they have been. Hit them on the line and move your safety over to help them if they get by your cb. Then maybe our pass rush can get to the qb. These coaches don't adjust! I'm nobody and even I can see that! If your gonna move your defensive tackles to the A gap, you better have good linebackers to protect against the run...and we don't!

Our secondary is awful!!! Fox is awful! We have no depth at any position except for defensive end!

Every game more and more people are coming to the conclusion he is not the elite QB we need. He is inconsistent. But if we do go in another direction we have to build a team around that QB. That is something the dolphins are not good at.

I think Ross should sell out. He's an absentee non-football owner. The only thing he offers is he wants to wim and he's rich but obviusly that hasn't mattered. I believe the ONLY thing we have not tried is the entire front office needs to be gutted. Hire some experienced, successful football people; NOT rejects or people in their twilight years. Once you have that foundation we can hopefully find a proven winner or someone with tremendous upside. Problem is that too many OC's and DC's that get hired as HC just don't cut it. Do I have to name them? I think we have to grow organically on all levels. Look at the franchises that are perennial competitors year in and year out. They do not change HC's like socks. Let a guy learn and let him grow with the franchise where the FO and the GM and HC, OC, DC are all working as a team. What a concept, eh? I must admit that Dan Campbell is the first coach that I really feel can relate with the players and is a tough SOB. I think he and the OC and DC were thrown in the ring without weapons. Hard for anyone to perform with the fragmented offensive and defensive strategies left over from all the departed. I say if we can get a REAL HC, fine, if not let Campbell have a year and same for RT. I'm not thinking he has what it takes to LEAD this team to victories and I'm leaning towards "NO" but he's been hamstrung at every angle; Sherman, Philbin, Lazur, OL, Defense not keeping the score low, yada yada yada

Yeah, I'm all for benching Tannehill! Start one of the other two qbs on the roster. Why? Because the Dolphins currently hold down the 8th slot in the draft. Need to lose out to get into top 5 territory!

I agree with you Mike. My biggest issue with Tannehill is that he usually shrinks in the big moments when we need him to make that big play. 3 and outs all day in the 4th qtr of almost every game. Tannehill isn't Drew Bree's or Tom Brady though, so I think we can stop pretending he might become them. The real issue is why is the team ALWAYS in a spot where Tannehill has to go make the play to save us? Why can't the defense hold? Why can't we run the clock with a lead? Football is the ultimate team game and Tannehill is an above average qb, not elite so why does Miami keep expecting him to explode and take over and why do we as the fans keep saying he sucks because he's not Dan Marino? It doesn't make sense.

Plus if we were going to replace him, we need someone better than him. And there is no one available that is better than him. All you have to do to see what this team REALLY thinks of Tannehill, is look at his contract. There is little guaranteed money even though he is a top 10 salary qb. So when the other guys get new contracts his contract will be relatively small. Miami can get out of it if they find someone better and the situation is much like Kaepernick in SF. They were smart to sign him long with low garauntess so if he doesn't pan out they can move on. We're in a Cinncinati situation where they have Dalton and built a damn good team around him. Dalton is still mediocre but he has so much more talent around him that people think he has become something else.

When he was making plays, WR and TE were dropping passes. However, we will absolve them because dropped passes happen.

Wide receiver and water boys are set

I like Ross' deep pockets. Hard to find a football save billionaire.

Hire Mike Shula as HC.

Would rather go 8-8. I like winning.

avatar

Have u ever seen a safety near grimes? Nope he is on an island against all the #1 recievers

avatar

I agree they aren't using him right! They say he has no pocket presence but I say what pockett, roll out like u said plus that is his strength. But I'm starting to believe that Campbell is just fronting and I'm wondering if they're not just throwing the games BC they was already out of the playoffs before Monday night!! They would've need a miracle to get in !!!

I have been a Tannehill supporter. But he has not earned that contract this season.

I don't defend him per se, however. I just also don't blame him for 100% of our losses like some of you on here do. This whole team is a mess from the front office to the parking lot attendants, so making outlandish statements like "changing the QB will get us to the Superbowl" is just ridiculous. So I, for one, will not sit here and attack Tannehill. I will, however, attack this entire team as a whole. Except for you, Jarvis Landry and Rashad Jones. You guys are cool.
