On Stephen Ross

I was having a bit of a debate with some readers about who's to blame - naturally I contend its Ross.

Apparently Armando agrees with my position.  You can read his rationale here:

Ain't no way a guy like Cowher (or established name) will come here if this is how ROss runs a team.

Unfortunately Cowher doesn't really want to coach anymore. I was at the game yesterday. I saw a team that was flat. No emotion. I picked almost every area the Bills were going to hit on defense and I'm nobody! Coyle is crap! His defensive scheme is horrible. I was watching the defensive line looking to one another because they were confused. McCain was getting eaten up by Harvin. Why not give him some safety help? Put Jenkins on Clay and blitz from time to time. This season is over. The whole coaching staff needs to be fired! So sick of this crap! Offensive line is crap every year!!

Besides the debacle of yesterday and the Bills, they - front office and Philbin - should all be fired for the one reason that THEY STILL HAVE NOT FIXED THE OLINE AFTER FOUR YEARS !!!!

Reason alone. This reason is enough that it kills the offense. Tannehill has been sacked like 140 times since he came on board. How would ANYONE feel if every other down you are getting hit on the head and thrown on your ASSS ? Still, they can win with his talent if the oline gives him time. Now the DLINE sucks too ! Great.
Not even getting to 8-8 this year if they don't beat a tough Jet team. Front office - wake up and do something, trades are still being made. Trade Stills WR and find a decent OLineman. Stills is overkill on a WR corps that is deep. Trade him get a NFL caliber Guard, out with D.Thomas, and just bring in kid Hazel as WR # 5.

The owner, Steven Ross is not the problem. Mr Ross has done everything a good owner should do. The coaching staff is not the problem. Tannehill is the problem. Now, he will probably play fairly decent next Sunday. He always does just enough to make nieve people think that he is about to turn the corner.; and now look; 4 years have pasted. Why won't they even try another QB just to see if what I am saying and other realist are saying about Tannehill is true. Well, they will have to suffer more embarrassment; and if I were on the defense or the offense, I would not do anything to help keep Tannehill as the starter. He is devastating both sides of the ball. What I am saying will not become glaringly apparent until Tannehill is no longer in the line up.

Do you want to win? Do you enjoy using the term “WE”? Show a little support and quit with the, “fire Philbin, Fire Coyle, Sue was a mistake, Tannehill sucks” The organization will sort through the problem. You guys certainly aren’t helping anything!!

Last year there was a lot of hope. The new GM had one of the best drafts since the days of JJ, and was making some great FA moves.

So what does Steve Ross do? Hire Tannebaum. That a guy who blew up the Jets salary cap and ran the teams roster into the ground despite having several good Head Coaches. Just what we need, another Parcells retread to screw up the team when it was starting to get good.

So far, Tannebaum's signature move, signing Suh, appears to have fallen flat on its face. The Tannehill extension isn't looking that good either. And then there are questionable moves - like trading a former first round draft pick for a fifth round because the coaches don't know what to with him.

Steven Ross has no idea how to run this team.

Russ I agree with you on the players. I don't want to lose any of the players we have. However, Philbin and Coyle have had enough time to show they can coach at the NFL level and they just aren't getting it done. Lazor is the best of them, but that's not saying much, and he's running an offense that, as we are also seeing in Philadelphia, has already run it's course. It's just the wildcat offense all over again. In 2 years both Chip Kelley and Bill Lazer will be either gone or demoted.

The movie "Moneyball," said it best. "Nobody reinvents this sport."

If you want to win a SB you have to run the ball, you have to block, you have to protect the QB, you have to have a sold defense, and you have to protect the football...

Or you have to have Aaron Rodgers throwing for you.

The dolphins do NONE of these things right now.
