Wait. What?

John Fox was in the Super Bowl last year. He succeeded with Tim Tebow before that.

He coached the Broncos to a great record, and then they lost in the divisional playoffs.

And he gets fired.

Meanwhile in Miami...Philbin has a losing record, can't seem to motivate his team, and hasn't even sniffed the playoffs.

And he gets a contract extension.

i would have taken any of the head coaches up for a job over quesy..im still upset ross has him coming back..2game skid bullgate in 13..coach loses 2games maybe 3 with bad coaching & team skids n December when playoffs were in sight.in 2014..what do you think is in store for the 15 season??.putting it kindly joe quesy is not head coaching material..he sucks plain & simple..hes much better coach than HEAD coach..this team will never be a serious playoff caliber team til we find a decent head coach imo

Wow...the Broncos fired John Fox. I was working all day.

Maybe Ross should rethink Philbin and go after Fox.

Betcha Rex Ryan wishes he had a chance at coaching Peyton Manning

9 Pro Bowlers ( on Denver) and he was 2-3 in the playoffs ... with health issues ....still scratin my head over what some of you dream up. Ryan > Fox

Anyone with Payton Manning as qb is gonna have a winning record!!! I am surprised that he got fired though. If Payton had been on the Dolphins with that amount of talent quesy would look brilliant and would probably be a superbowl champ!

It's baffling to me also....Fox wins 4 division titles in 4 years, goes to the Super Bowl last year, went to the Super Bowl with Carolina, had 12 wins this year and that's not good enoughto keep his job.? Then you have Philbin - who hasn't sniffed any thing remotely playoff oriented and he gets an extension.!!! I'll tell you why...because the Broncos hold people accountable for failure to reach their goals- Ross and the Dolphins don't they reward people for failure apparently...Being a long time Dolphin fan I actually applaud Pat Bowlen the owner of the Broncos for doing what he should have!!! But in saying that,I would also like to say that John Fox is a vastly better coach than what we have as the Captain of our sinking ship....its to damn bad our loser owner refuses to see things right in front of his eyes- like losing seasons, losing coach's,and losing players.!!! But - not to worry fans,Philbin, and Ross assure they will fix what's broken and we will be better next year--- how many Dolphin fans truely believe that.?

Ross's decisions are baffling. He keeps Ireland for 3 seasons too long. Then he keeps Philbin for what looks like seasons too long. I don't know why Ross doesn't demand excellence from his staff, the way other owners do. I guess that's why the Dolphins are a perennially a weak franchise. Until he acts like a decisive leader and hold people accountable, this organization will continue to flop around like a chicken with no head.

Sounds like a clash of egos to me....Elway no doubt thinks he is so good he could make any coach great......maybe he can LOL

Agree with gasnotoil, Elways kicks the last GM to the curve and now Fox. Meanwhile Ross is afraid because of so many rejections. I'm afraid Philbin looks more like an NFL Ref than a coach yet he wouldn't last being a Zebra cause he doesn't like confrontations.

Ross met with Dan Marino and Mike Tannenbaum during the Pats game. Tannenbaum gets a job and Marino becomes the forgotten man. Marino, who attended all the practices and meetings since coming aboard, probably didn't share in the love for Philbin. It's all conjecture, but where's Dan?

Firing Fox was not "holding him accountable." Firing Fox was stupidity. If you fire a coach with his record, you're a moron. Good luck finding someone better, Denver. Oh that's right, I forgot elite HCs and QBs grow on trees and rain from the sky (sarcasm). This is the beginning of the end of the Broncos. It'll be back to mediocrity for them within the next 2 seasons. You guys that agree with a decision like that....smh. I guess they should just fire EVERY coach that doesn't win the SB this year....

You guys know Manning was playing with a torn quad, right? And that's not an excuse. It's a fact. Any team with Manning on the roster isn't winning a SB without him at 100%.

Okay now it's starting to come out that Fox may have wanted out and was butting heads with the front office anyway, so I may have reacted prematurely. You don't want to fire a coach that consistently wins, but you also don't want turmoil within your organization.

my thoughts exactly !!!!

Okay now where's the blog post this morning whining and crying about Todd Bowles going to the Jets and how we now have the "worst HC in the East" even though Bowles is completely unproven as a HC. I know it's coming. 10 negative blog posts for every positive/neutral one.
