Tannehill, Offense Silences Critics

Going to Soldier Field in the NFL is never an easy task, but the Miami Dolphins took control in the game early on Sunday to beat Chicago 27-14. As the 27 points indicate, Miami’s offense got back on track in a big way. Ryan Tannehill led the way, and all those talks of him possibly losing his job can stop for this week.

The arm was sharp and accurate from the very beginning. Tannehill threw for 277 yards and two touchdowns to finish with one of the most efficient days of any quarterback in fantasy football. He completed 25 of his 32 passes, which allowed him to finish with a robust 123.6 quarterback rating.

People don’t think of Tannehill as a huge threat on the ground, but he ran for 48 yards against Chicago as well. The major blow on the ground came on a 4th-and-1 in the third quarter, as he ran for 30 yards to keep the drive alive.

Tannehill isn’t perfect just yet, as he still holds onto the ball a little too long and he can force the issue occasionally. However, the Miami Dolphins have to realize after this performance that those talks of him getting replaced are a bit much. Chicago is a below-average team on defense, but it is still difficult to go on the road in the NFL and play that efficiently. Perhaps they do not trust him enough to be the long-term quarterback for the team, but he is going to get a chance to play out this season and see how things go. It is difficult to obtain a fantasy football star at quarterback, so Miami just might realize that they have to make it work with Tannehill. If he can have more weeks like he did in week 7, they will be more than happy with those results.

Couldn't have said it better myself! Although,.....(hold up signs saying "LAUGH NOW!")

Not until Tannehill can throw the deep ball accurately.

Wow...Dave is back covering the games!!!

Good to have your input.

The deep ball covers a multitude of errors. Until Tannehill masters the deep ball, he will only be a serviceable backup at best. However, his regular runs will suffice for now; against the Jags; but after the Jags game, we are going to have to go deep regularly or we will get blown out in the second half of the next 9 games. I say the second half, because our defense will keep it close until they see that Tannehill cannot get it done. Defenses will eventually figure out a way to stop Tannehill from running the ball. Then we will return to our previous situation of sparadic offense due to no deep ball activity. I am not a bubble buster. I am just sparing you for when the offense stalls all of a sudden.

Hey Carl, that's what I do. Carl, since you love Tannehill so much, you should get my message to Philbin. (I can teach Tannehill how to throw the deep ball accurately within one week; GUARANTEED! NO JOKE.)

avatar

Hey David, you're a joke.

avatar

@carl - don't be too quick to give me props. This was submitted by another fan. :)

Hey Mike, how am I a joke? Actually, you and everyone who thinks that Tannehill is going to progress into a starting QB, gives a Joke, new meaning homes. However, what I am trying to impress upon Carl, is, Tannehill needs special training; outside of the typical training for QBs. I know how to help Tannehill make that giant leap to a top 5 Qb within 3-5 days; GUARANTEED! If I am not hired to help Tannehill take this next step, it is never going to happen! I can also help the dolphins make the playoffs and the Superbowl THIS YEAR, GUARANTEED!

@David Apollos I looked for you on Google I couldn't find a QB coach with your name.

avatar

@Dave Kennedy...Haha...you got me

@Dave Apollos...if you are such a great QB coach, you wouldn't be boasting about it here, you would be too busy coaching up players. QB coaches are in high demand.

Just to satisfy my curiosity, what is Tannehill actually doing wrong?

Oh and BTW...Tannehill is already a starting QB. Has been since he was drafted.

Hey Matt; that's because I am an undercover free agent - special trainer. I specialize in the improbable tasks with speedy results. When I finish with Tannehill, you and everyone else will simply be amazed at his performance on game day!

avatar

Carl; I will answer your question; what is Tannehill doing wrong? These things are preventing Tannehill from becoming anything more than a backup level QB: / he holds the ball too long / he cannot throw the deep ball / he stares down his intended receiver / he is not relaxed in the pocket / and he eats too many bowls of cereal on Tuesday. ( I can correct all of theses issues within 3 to 5 days; GUARANTEED! Then I will have Tannehill to hit Wallace in stride a few times so that all will see that Tannehill has finally ARRIVED!

Carl, I want to offer my services because I can tell that Tannehill really wants to be a good QB. Some QBs are content with mediocrity; but not Tannehill. So for this reason, I would like to help him reach his goal quickly; and I can deliver or I would not offer my special services.

Call it my "October surprise". ๐Ÿ˜œ. The author didn't want credit but it was well written so I agreed to post it. I was wondering if anyone would catch on that it wasn't me.

avatar

David has delusions of grandeur and sounds like a two-bit swindler as he keeps repeating, "GUARANTEED!". What a maroon!

avatar

Hey Mike, GUARANTEED means, if I don't deliver they don't pay! All they have to do, is fly me out and give me, Tannehill and 3 practice squad receivers 1 to 2 hour; for 3 to 5 days, and I WILL DELIVER A QUALITY PRODUCT. However, as far as grandeur is concerned, I am a lifesaver. I save lives and I deliver the oppressed from bad people. So, it not about an ego. I take pride in accomplishing that which does not seem possible.
