Dear Mr Ross

I suspect I speak for most fans when I say I've had enough.

Chad Henne had about 30 games to prove his worth, before being chased out of town. Tannehill has now had 37 games and he's not any better.

Please get the coaching staff to pull the plug on him.

And now to the coach. Philbin is not the guy. There appear to be many issues here and talking about them all will take too long. But there have been a handful of coaches here in the last decade or so that we're let go for similar reasons - call it mediocrity if you like.

It's time to let him go and start the search for a new coach.

Perhaps all is not lost this season, but look at the turnout for today's game. The game mattered and if you're not a dolphins fan, maybe it was even exciting and generally well played.

And yet no one came to watch. And with the loss, it seems unlikely the fans will return.

You have to do so something to show that you care. And simply saying you're disappointed isn't enough.

Maybe you wait a week, but it's time to show some moxie and get the fans back behind this team.

They said they sold 70,000 tix. Did they announce the attendance?

Philbin needs to break out his wing tips. Gonna need to interview again.

Back in the day they used to report on distributed and used tickets. Now it's just "attendance" which is total tickets that were counted for the purposes of a sellout. It's a relatively meaningless number.

Let's not sugar coat this. Philbin sucks as a head coach, some guys have it and some don't and he clearly does not have it. Tannehill also sucks as an NFL QB, as said about Philbin, some have it and some don't and Tannehill don't. Yes, he played well in the 2nd half, but playing good for half a game is not good enough. Playing a career game against the league's worst team then coming out flat against the good teams is not gonna cut it. Tannehill should have never thrown that pass into double coverage when he got picked off trying to throw to Hartline. The other pick was just as bad, he stared the receiver down the entire way, easy pickings. His good play does not outweigh his bad. Time to move on from this guy. He does not have "it". He will never be more than a below average backup or maybe even a receiver, not a QB. I can honestly say I like Derek Carr more than Ryan Tannehill. Time to draft 2 QBs a year until we find an elite one...

I don't see an upside to changing to a no contract beyond 2014 Matt Moore. I would keep Tanny in there and I would be all for drafting another QB to compete with him next season. I think there is some real traction to the Ross getting Harbaugh. I would be open to firing Philbin now and promoting Ken Okeefe or Coyle and interim to try to get the players to Rally behind someone this year and then go hard after Harbaugh

Would love Harbaugh in Miami

I know Harbaugh is a Obsessive coach that rubs some people the wrong way. But then again if you watch what Shula was like in the 70's He was a monster that was never happy. He would be livid right now after this loss.

I had to listen to this game at work, I live in Wisconsin, can you imagine how hard it was it listen to the BS after the game? Why can't this franchise turn the corner? I don't like to admit it but if the truth be known as soon as we took the lead then held the Packers to a 3 and out then they punted and we in turn went 3 and out I knew they would win, you know why?, simple I have seen it over and over and over again. We made Arron Rogers and the Packers look like a offensive machine, the dolphins on the other hand could not get a first down when we needed it, so with all that being said we are third in our division with the Bears next, at this point it doesn't look good for this team again. We had a chance to make a statement and did not which is a statement in and of its self/

@ GoFins: yes Harbaugh may rub some ppl the wrong way but with 1 super bowl appearance and a title appearance in his short resume, if he brought that success to Miami, ppl should paint their toes pink if he asked. It was reported that some Niner players don't like that he don't let them listen to music at certain times and to that I say, who the hell do you think you are!?? You get paid millions to play a game! And you are WINNING! If the coach wants you to stand on your head and sing I'm a little teapot then you should do it just for the simple fact of you high salary! Oh yeah, and did I mention the fact that they are winning at a high level??!...

well I'm tired of arguing with you people you are just wrong. there is potential in Tannehill and you people will run him right out of town and he will be successful somewhere else. The failure is with a lack of heart from Philbin. On the second to last Dolphin drive the play calling had tenacity and we got a TD. On the last drive it looked like the first half again, boring play calls and just a desire to just not loose.

I agree Matt. I see no upside to pulling him. If they don't have a conviction on him after the season draft another QB to compete. It is not like Tannehill is this big cap drain right now. We need to KNOW for sure he is the not the guy not just throw him on the bench and put in Matt Moore

avatar

@ mattbatt: did Philbin cause Tanny to throw in double coverage and cause him to stare down his reciever resultin in 2 turnovers?

avatar

And for the record, I never said to bench him, I just said he is not the guy and we need to draft 2 QBS until we find what we are looking for

avatar

As I said weeks ago, start Tannehill and draft a QB.

And as I asked, "Does the Peter Principle apply to Philbin?"

Today we got our answer.

We need to cut bait now and move on. The players may have already moved on mentally. They may have seen enough today to lose faith in their leadership and then you are bailing water with a colandar.

avatar

@ Carl: The players may not be the only ones who are moving on. It has been reported that Coyle & Philbin got in a shoving match when Philbin decided to punt it away on 4th down when the Dolphins had a little success moving the ball. Philbin's assistants may be moving on as well....

The coach cost of dolphins the football game. This head coach should be fired when you have opponent on a 4 and 10 with no time outs, you do not call for a timeout Joe Philbin should be fired!!!!
