Dolphin players told Tannehill will start

The Dolphin players have been informed that Tannehill will be the starter in London. Now we can end all the guessing and speculation. I know the game was bad and the offense has looked terrible the last two games. But lets take a step back and look at the bigger picture. The Dolphins have more talent on paper than the 0-3 Raiders and "should" win the game. That would put us at 2-2 entering the bye. Something that before the season started I saw as the most likeliest scenario. I saw us beating the Bills and Raiders but losing to the Patriots and Chiefs, two playoff teams from a year ago. However if before the season you told me we could swamp the Patriots and Bills game, I would take it.

Now the Dolphins still need to play the Raiders and if we do lose to them then all goes through the window. A 1-3 start before the bye with the next two games against the Packers and Bears, we could very well start off 1-5 with the season pretty much over.

With all that being said, we need to stick with Tannehill. Who knows he could somehow turn it all around and we go on a winning streak. Matt Moore is a solid back up and I trust him to come in if Tannehill gets hurt. But I like Matt Moore more as a backup. It is too early in the season to give up on Tannehill, he isn't Chad Henne bad.

Give Tannehill a game against a mediocre/bad defense and lets see how he performs. If he performs bad then we can revisit this discussion during the bye week. But for Tannehill's sake lets hope he has a good game and we can put this talk behind us, for at least two weeks.

I will say this though, I believe the Dolphins should draft a QB in the draft next offseason. Whether that be in the first round or the seventh round remains to be seen.

If Tannehill starts against the Raiders we will loose the game and our chances of making the playoffs will drop to a 10% chance. The coaches deserve what they are going to get from Tannehill. Even if we do somehow win this game; we are sure to loose 4 out of the next 5 if Tannehill is still starting after the bye. Stupidity continues to reign in Miami. When the Raiders blow us out in the firsthalf, I will laugh through the whole game!

If we lose to the Raiders we might as well just tank the rest of the season

Tannehill did not play that bad against the Chiefs. Take a look at the plays on my last post. I am not sure what Matt Moore is going to do on those poor play designs. I am not even sure what Peyton Manning would do ( other than probably audible and call his own plays). With that being said I would agree Matt Moore is better at backyard football. He is fearless and will either score some points or get it picked off. But that is basically admitting you are being seriously out coached. I am getting VERY close to starting a hire Mike Shula after the season campaign.

They funny this Richard is this team is very talented. It would not shock me if we lose to the Raiders and then beat the Packers and Chargers. Last year we beat the Chargers and Bengals and lost to Tampa Bay. Sounds about right

Sorry I meant "The funny thing is"

Richard it's coming and I believe that it is going to be a blowout. Then after we go in the bye at 1-3; maybe they will finally do what they should have done in game one; START MATT MOORE OR SETH LOBATO! Either QB will give us more offense and TDs because they both throw a beautiful deep ball. So, let;s prepare for one more game of foolishness and then maybe after the bye week, we can start playing football. The first person to touch the football has to be above average. When they are not, we you will have what we have; teasing and INCONSISTENCE!

I kind of hope he comes in and lights it up for you David. If Moore comes in and throws 3 Ints, I am not sure what you are going to put for comments, we would miss you.

What I don't understand is why is everyone waiting for Tannehill to play a good game against the worst team in the league? If he plays well does that mean he is "the guy"? It amazes me that as fans we are giving him a chance to redeem himself against the worst team in the NFL. This weekend's game is meaningless when it comes to gauging Tannehill. I have already seen enough of Tannehill, he is regressing, his stats show it and back it up. The only consistent thing about Tannehill is that there is CONSISTENTLY a new excuse every week for his play, or lack there of. NO MORE EXCUSES!!!!

Lawrence you are correct. It sickens me to even be discussing anything but starting a new QB sunday. As I said. foolishness always prevails in Miami, every since Shula retired. They are coaching staff are a bunch of cowards. They are afraid to make a decision that offends their fishing buddies. Wannestedt was the same way. Feidler was a decent QB until he injured his thumb. After the thumb injury, he was an interception machine and because he was Wanndsted's fishing buddy, he would not bench Feidler no matter many interceptions he threw. Instead, Wannstedt put all the pressure on the defense and Ricky WIlliams to compensate for Feidler's rediculous inadequicies. Sound familiar right now doesn't it!

All I am saying is if we have to hope our QB plays a good game against the worst team in the NFL to figure out if he can lead this team then we have more issues than we think and we have no standards as a franchise or fan base...

And just for clarity, I really do want to believe in this team, honestly. I was one of their biggest advocates in the offseason and even after the Buffalo loss but their coaching, QB play, and overall performance in not excusable anymore. I'm tired of the excuses. I can honestly write a mile long post listing every excuse I have heard, read, and saw for why they play like crap. Tannehill's numbers don't lie. The team stats don't lie. It is what it is. If 1 person says you are a jerk then that is their opinion, but if 20 people say you are a jerk, then guess what??! You are probably a jerk! Same applies here. It's all there in front of us. I realize that as a fan you wanna hope we can turn it around and if they do I will be first in line to admit I was wrong but hope don't win division titles, hope don't produce winning seasons, hope don't bring playoff berths. Neither do excuses. This team is full of them and it's getting ridiculous. If I hear one more excuse as to why we lost games we should have won, or wait, let me rephrase that, if I hear 1 more excuse as to why we FAILED TO COMPETE THE LAST 2 WEEKS, I will write a post listing all the excuses and sources so you can see for yourself how ridiculous it is.

HaHaHa "they might tell the offense to blow Matt Moore's start" Now I know you are messing with us on Matt Moore lol.

avatar

GOFIN4FOOLISHNESS; first of all, they are not going to even give Matt Moore the opportunity to prove my point; and if they do, they will likely tell the offense to blow Matt Moore's start because they are still hanging onto the foolish unreality that one day, 20 years from now, a grey headed Tannehill is going to walk threw the door and say; "coach I finally get it now, dammit". And everyone will be so happy!

I think Andy Reid made a fool out of our DC a few times and our Defense was weakened by the injuries, which was a big part of the loss. That said, the Offense repeatedly looks not ready to play football when the game starts. Everyone wants to blame Tannehill and I don't believe he's innocent, but the receivers, O-Line, & backs aren't doing anything either. The O-Line is simply not good enough, especially Dallas Thomas. If we don't stay healthy on the O-Line, there's no way this team touches the playoffs. The WR's got all that praise in preseason, which I never understood. Hartline is a weakling down the stretch even though he has heart & decent hands. Wallace isn't a very good receiver. He's fast & athletic but he's just not good.
We don't have a real NFL TE though I think Clay is a decent player. Gibson hasn't done crap this year. Landry has out-played the rest of the WR's. Tannehill has a poor deep ball, throws behind guys, & has poor anticipation on broken plays. I think the whole team stunk up these last 2 games. Reid showed us a team that was ready to play & he located plays that succeeded, where Philbin/Lazor just didn't have any answers. I think it's myopic to put it all on Tannehill. Matt Moore will struggle just as badly, if not worse under these conditions.

CHRIS, the team does not want to play with Tannehill any longer. They know now, that they will not win with him; 7 or 8 games at the most. They don't dislike him as a person, but only as a QB. They like him personally or there would have been a revolt long before now. If Tannehill plays the rest of the season, we will not win more than 4 games; mark my word.

LMFAO gofins4sb.

avatar

David, how do you know the team doesn't want Tannehill starting?

You have mentioned that a few times.

avatar

Yes! On Shula.

avatar

Our receivers lead the league in dropped passes. Tannehill is not a superstar but he had made some good plays and some bad plays. He is running for his life every other play. With a veteran QB like Brady or manning etc. You can expect them to deal with it better. When you have a young qb who is learning a BRAND NEW OFFENSE all over again it is difficult to make decisions when he is being severely pressured and avoiding sacks every play. It amazeseems me that all of you guys think Matt Moore will play Any better. Moore is a gunslinger and will throw 2 interceptions per game.

avatar

Jason, I will take the 2 interception along with the 5 TDs that Matt Moore will throw to Mike Wallace and company!

avatar

Carl, it is because I am an expert in body language, body poster and I can expertly read between the lines of expressions. The team got so fired up when they heard that Matt Moore may be starting Sunday. I will explain the poor play on both sides of the team, as of late. It started with the win over the Patriots. When the team saw how easily they crushed the Patriots despite Tannehill's poor outing; they all got to thinking, "man, if we had a QB who was accurate, we could blow a lot of teams out this year". So, the entire team begin to covet Matt Moore playing because they know the team will be better suited with a gunslinger at the helm, rather than a manager QB who is holding back the offense. So, when Tannehill played poorly the next two games, that truly was the last straw. You see the dolphins have already gone through this foolishness with Feildler and most recently, Chad Henne. Now, without any breaks from this sort of foolsihness, the team is being asked to go through it again with Tannehill. You see, it's like a chorus of great singers making a high quality sound; all but one singer. Everyone likes the bad singer, but no one has the guts to tell him that he is preventing the chorus from being perfect. I am 1000% sure that if Matt Moore or even Seth Lobato were at the helm, from the beginning of the season, we would be undefeated. We have many tough games coming up and the only way we are going to win these games is to score a lot of points fast. This is never going to happen with Tannehill and the whole team knows it. Tannehill did not score one TD in 8 attempts against KC. This was the last straw for the team. They do not want Tannehill under center ever again, no matter what they are programmed to say to the public. Someone is going to explode publicly if a change is not made now. Mark my word; and it may be most of the the team that does so. They can only hide their true feelings and take so much. I will take Matt Moore's interceptions here and there because he will also score a lot of points with the INTs. Dan Marino threw a lot of interceptions but he threw so many TDs, that no one panicked when he threw a pick. We need points not yards and an occassional 3 points. That is all Tannehill has to offer.

Look at this picture. Look at the underneath route. SHOULD HAVE NEVER ENDED IN A SACK. Good vision Tannehill...

Also I think that if the Tannehill doesn't improve there might calls for a certain QB in Washington named RG3 lol
