Dave's take

I was on a flight during the first part of last nights draft.

The plane lands and I flip on my phone and see the picks to this point. Only one qb taken, a run on linemen. And the next pick is Miami.

As you know, I have a man crush on Teddy Bridgewwater. And there he is, waiting to be taken. The TE from UNC is gone. Several other studs are gone.

I actually found myself thinking "maybe...?" And scarier still, I actually thought "man if they draft him, I might even jump on the bandwagon and watch the team..."

And of course the dolphins select "the guy we wanted all along" (good luck finding any gm who would tell you otherwise), a lineman who wasn't so highly touted. Yawn.

And then Pouncey shows he hasn't learned a single thing and immediately takes to twitter to start the hazing. Ya gotta believe the nfl - which still hasn't punished him yet for his role in bully gate - will notice.

And for what it's worth, I'll be checking out some Vikings games this year. Plus I'll follow Bartles and Manziel as they start their careers.

I respect what Pouncey did. He was not hazing he was mocking the NFL - which earned it. What a bunch of jackasses the front office of the NFL is! The NFL tacitly condoned hazing FOREVER! Never once did the NFL so much as lift a pinky throughout the decades of this league for hazing. The reality is - the NFL front office is no different then your local public elementary school - they don't care an iota about the person of the player, just like your school does not care about the individual student - they care about the league, and the school cares about the school or the smooth running of the classroom. Good for Pouncey for putting his middle finger up to the pathetic, pseudo-caring of the NFL's front office - posturing in a punishing position towards him or any other Dolphin player for doing what the NFL has allowed to happen on a much worse scale then the Martin incident FOREVER!

And the Dolphins absolutely made the right pick - and Hickey did it with conviction. He got an immediate starter o aid our offense. Many sexier - more high risk players were available - but this is year 3 for this regime - so its win into the playoffs or close it down time for all. Hickey did not mess around and clearly really likes James as a player and a high character guy. NICE!

Pouncey should curb his tongue at least while the NFL is making their decision. He can needle the NFL all he wants after he is cleared to play. He is putting the entire team in a bind if he get suspended. It's selfish and immature. Let's grow up and act like a professional. It wouldn't surprise me if in round two the Dolphins pick a center.

Hey Dave, It's really OK if you prefer to watch some other team. This is America we can watch who we want. As an example, I'm not going to read your blog in the future. God bless America.

And this shows that you have absolutely no clue regarding the needs of this team.....take a QB???? ....really?....REALLY!!??? With the swiss cheese line we had in addition to the fact that we jettisoned starting O linemen?

In reality, the Dolphins had ONLY three options and they all involved taking an O Lineman....their choices were 1. Move up for Z. Martin, 2. Stay put at #19 and pick there or 3. Trade the pick and move down and get an O Lineman (probably J. James there anyway) there & picking up another pick.

I, along with many other KNOWLEDGEABLE fans thought option 1 OR 3 would have been best but of course the Fins went with #2, using it to fill the spot desperately needed but a little too high and "unsexy".

I was trying to clean up the posts a bit - seems that it shows I deleted them (which I did), but they were all repeats ... feel free to say whatever you like. :)
