GM Search....

OK, this whole GM thing is getting ridiculous!! I am not one to dig too deep in the front office thing but what the heck is going on in this organization that nobody decent wants to interview or wants the job!! Pee-Wee Herman probably wouldn't take the job! Geez! This is so frustrating! I say just let Philbin do the scouting, drafting, trading, etc etc! We won't have any other choice if this shenanigan keeps up!

What is your hurry!?
Here's a revolutionary idea the two most successful teams this past year are also the teams going to the Super-Bowl. What if the dolphins are going after a front office guy/gal from Denver or Seattle and they have to wait (GHASP! SHOCEKR) until after the Super Bowl. If you have ever worked for a corporation you know that the higher you go in an organization the less needed you are on a daily bassis. While some NFL teams are not organized like a corporation it really seems like the absentee owner Steve Ross has organized the Dolphins like his other corporations. The scouts are still scouting, the contract people are still haggling. Just calm down and be patient it's only two more weeks.

Just wanted to point out that there are no rules around contacting or interviewing front office people during the playoffs. Out of respect, most teams won't interview candidates from these teams - but they will make contact

Never said I was in a hurry! Just flabbergasted that nobody wants the job! And yes, I am aware of the rules of the employees who are on the Super Bowl teams but if you remember, "the guy" we wanted from Seattle, Scot McCloughan, already turned down an interview with Miami, so unless Elway plans to leave Denver, your theory is not accurate.

It is not a traditional GM position at all. No power over the coaches and no power over contracts and money. It really is more of a title change not a change in power for most of these guys. I know the media is negative and I am not surprised these guys shy away when they can't run the show. But we really don't need another Ireland. I saw Ireland was ripping on coaching at the end. Maybe justified in general but is Ireland at all qualified to coach? We need someone to focus on talent and that is all. Not a power grab for someone. Maybe Gaine is really the guy that fits all along?
