A Few Thoughts & Questions...

Who does everyone wanna see as GM and why? We now know it's down to at least two "finalists", one of which is almost certainly Ray Farmer. Out of all the candidates out there I believe he would be the smartest hire because from what it seems, HE CAN PICK TALENT!! And that is all we need him for. It has been reported that the idea of pursuing Scott Pioli was "discussed internally" and the decision was made not to pursue him. I am curious as to why not? Anybody know? I don't know if he would be a good fit or not but I am just curious... 2nd question...We all know Bill Lazor has an excellent resume for developing QB's and is a great teacher which is good news for Ryan Tannehill. But im wondering, what type of offense does he plan to install in Miami? West coast? Up tempo like Philly? Heavy option based receiving routes like that Patriots? I have not heard much and I'm curious about some opinions, rumors, or what you all have heard... Lastly, I have to admit I'm pretty excited for the Duffner hire as the LB coach. I was pretty impressed with Paul Posluszny all year and in my opinion was a top 5 line backer this year. Thoughts on this?...

1. I am not happy with any of the finalist. The reason people loved and got behind Philbin was because he came from a winning organization. None of the three finalist are from winning organizations. I have been reading reports about how bad the Dolphins and Browns organizations are, so to bring over some of the same is not good in my opinion.

2. Don't care, as long as it is not slow paced. We have one of the youngest offenses in football to act like they are long in the tooth (actual way to know the age of a dolphin).

3. Love the LBs move. The only thing that was good about the Jaguars this season was the play of their LBs.

I was not a fan of how Scott Pioli ripped the Dolphins on NFL network this season. To me he was trying to add fuel to the fire for his personal gain and I am glad they never even interviewed him. I like Farmer because he seems like a players type of guy. Part of the job is recruiting free agents. It takes more than just money. I always felt Ireland was so ruthless free agents could tend to not trust them. I want a guy that keeps players in house for similar money to what is offered and a guy that signs new players for similar money. Farmer might relate well to potential free agents.

I read Philbin met with Laser this week in detail. Which made more sense to me than to the media all up in arms he skipped the senior bowl. They need to plan the 2014 offense first so they know what type of players they are going after. I expect up tempo taking more advantage of Tannehills mobility as well as Wallace's speed. Also with the top wrs and Tannehill all together for a season now. Expect them to expand more diverse routes and audibles. I expect them to targrt note athletic oline as well. So they can run more screens and stretch runs. That will help a ton making the d-ends stay home and lower the massive sack totals.
