We need 4 more AFC wins to make the playoffs

I believe after reviewing the opponents of all of the 4-6 teams and Buffalo (4-7), the Miami Dolphins should only need to win 4 AFC games to secure the final AFC playoff spot.

Do you agree?

Further, if Miami can win 5 (all 5 AFC games actually) of the final 6 games, they should overtake New England for the Division Lead.

Your thoughts?

How did you figure this MD??? I assume you mean that we would have to beat Pittsburgh and Jets twice then either Buffalo or New England and then we would still have 7 losses....who has tie breaker with Tennessee??? Oakland??? What if one of them run the table??? How about if Cincinnati wins Division and Baltimore has 7 losses???
I think we may have to win all our AFC games to get in. When I get some time I will look at it all

We need Tannehill to step up. no more missing a wide open Hartline to seal a win.
Tannehill plays well and we can run the table.

The only exceptions are if NYJ or BAL wins 5 out 6 games, or if one of the 4-6 teams runs the table... which would be crazy. Then 4 will not be good enough. I am strongly suggesting that 4 will be more than enough.

4 may be enough...so many of these teams play each other...who needs to run the table is Denver and Cincinnati...then we need to beat Jets twice and Pitt and either NE or Buffalo...plus others will wind up knocking each other off...8-8 may get in but that may not be us...gonna have to see who beats whom....gonna be a crazy finish this year

I don't know about over taking NE...they would have to lose 2-3 games including losing to us

NE loses to Den and Mia and Cleveland... :)

NE losing to Cleveland at home? Not sure about that. Odds better at Baltimore.
Let's face it, we got a tough row to hoe ourselves. Not one of our games are a given. And if we cannot stop the run, we are in trouble.

Cleveland's front 4 reminds me of the Panthers... and, they have shut down corners.

I like Cleveland over Baltimore. Baltimore can win if that offense clicks that day.

Cleveland is more consistent.

home/away means little to me except in GB, Seattle, Denver and KC.

Means a lot to the players. That's why the number 1 seed gets home field throughout. Its tougher to win on the road with traveling inconvenience beyond just a crowd. NE is not gonna lose 3 games. And we are not running the table. Probably get our butts kicked Sunday if both lines don't improve. San Diego's front seven isn't that imposing. Carolina is playing very well. The Jets defensive line can be very good. Buffalo's front is good. NE can run the ball too. Pitt is playing well. We are just too inconsistent for me to believe we are gonna get to 9 wins. We may not win another game. These are very tough road games for us and the homes are no picnics either. I am cautiously hopeful.

When was the last number 1 seed to win the SuperBowl (how many in last 25 years)? Then, when was time both number 1 seeds actually met each other in the SuperBowl? Home Field means very little except in a few cities.

I expect to lose this week as we don't match-up well against Carolina. Their strength is our weakness. If the Jets had a slightly better offense, I would say the same about their Defense. I actually expect to win 4 of the last 5 games... IF coaching puts together decent game plans. Keep in mind, San Diego has had some quality wins this year (not slouches). Tannehill seems to be getting better in all but one area - hitting the deep pass with Wallace. I see us with a real chance starting next week, not this week. We could catch Carolina sleeping after 2 great wins... let's hope. But, frankly, we really don't match up on either side of the ball.

However, we could win none or all of the last 5 games. I agree with you on "we may not win another game." However, that is far-fetched... We have the talent to win all 5. It will be coaching, play calling, and game planning. Sometimes the sports press forgets how important all of that really is.

Further, I want to see a NYG type finish to the season and going into playoffs on a hot streak.

Yep that would nice. Win the last 5 but gonna be tough.
Cleveland is not beating NE in NE or any place else. Not gonna happen.
