Interesting that the Dolphins played as well defensively as they did. My assumption was that with Todd Bowles now the coordinator in Philly, the team's success against Brady would come to an end - Bowles was the common thread to now. Even so, it shouldn't be a surprise that the fins lost. They just aren't quite good enough.
I've been saying for a while that Jake Long - while still a very good player - has been living mostly on reputation. He deserved the pro bowl in his first and maybe 2nd seasons. In year 3, he was injured for several games and there were certainly better players. Last year, it was all about hype and he was not even close to being the best tackle in the league - and again missed several games. And this year, he was missing assignments and looking average. Yet he was leading pro bowl balloting. And now (apparently) his season is done. I think its obvious the Dolphins will make him AN offer, but won't go all out to re-sign the guy.
Funny how you can tie the loss by the 49ers directly to Ted Ginn jr (and his family). Kopernick pitched to Ginn on a play to try and ice the game, and Ginn mishandled it; it was picked up and run in for a TD that started the move to overtime.
Speaking of former fins, how about Chad Henne? He had a pretty good day for the Jaguars, in spite of the loss.
And what do these two teams have in common? They are the next two opponents for Miami.
Ya gotta figure the 49ers are going to be hot about the loss and will look to take it out on Miami at home. Certainly Henne will want to prove his detractors wrong in the Dolphins stadium.
And during this week, granny said she's gonna stop by the facility and show these Dolphins a thing or two. Look out Reggie Bush, she thinks you're cute, and she likes to tackle and pile on.
