I find it hard to believe that Manning will want to change his contract up to be incentive based (most likely). Plus there is always the whole Luck thing, where if Manning does start every incompletion he throws, the crowd would be chanting for Luck. Plus a whole new staff and a rebuilding team, I don't see Manning staying.

Irsay has fired the first shot. He has told people that he would like to have Manning back and he is welcome in Indy. However he is not going to pay him the bonus money and he will have to restructure his deal. Basically what I got from it was a half hearted effort to get Manning back, as it was more for positive publicity on himself so he won't be known as the owner that cut Manning, but rather as the owner who tried to keep Manning but the two sides couldn't agree.Like This Article ? :
