Chaos!!

John Clayton reported earlier that there is a tentative plan to open training camps on July 24.

It will be chaos he says. No kidding.

The plan would be to open camp and run free agency for the first two weeks, during camp, and to give the players, coaches, and agents a rundown of the agreement on the fly.

Hail the almighty dollar! Why give any thought to the madness that will ensue. And forget about how coaches and gms will unintentionally break the rules. And how agents won't understand the rules of the road as they shop their players. And how the "games" (if you can call them that) will be nothing more than a disorganized scrimmage - for which the fans will be expected to pay full price!!

Assuming they make it back, the first game I'll actually watch won't be for 4 weeks, that is after the regular season starts.

  2. Because they've laid out a plan that makes no sense and puts greed first, and forgets about the product they'll put out there. As a fan, why should we watch this crap?

As a football fan, I want to (and will) watch games during the regular season, but I have no interest in watching them practice - and frankly can't understand why anyone else would, either. But that's my opinion.

  3. I’ll watch every game I can. I love football I truly am a fanatic. I will watch preseason, regular season and any other season they want to play. I also find it hard to believe you actually will not watch any game until the regular season. (Wink, wink)

In fact I want them to come up with a year around Farm system that would start just after the SB and last about 6 months just before the NFL season starts so I can get my fix 365 days a year.(Rookie and UDFA developmental training)

Why not help me figure that out rather than try and convince me to not watch Preseason games.

    :)

And isn't that a microcosm of what is happening in this country right now? I look across the political landscape and see the same thing. I agree it is america, but I don't have to like it.

  6. I can stand it in football but not what the politicians are doing to this Country....they are stupid enough to run the whole Country and World economy over a cliff just to win. What can we do but pray to God that he clean up the mess they have created. (SOON!)

  7. I would have agreed a few years ago. Who cares - its sport, and they can do what they want, after all.

But I've become more jaded over the years, I suppose.

And here's to hoping - praying, perhaps - that out elected officials actually do what's in the best interests of "we, the people" rather than themselves!
