They got a WR in round 4 from Abilene Christian who I have never heard of. I heard he was a speedy guy, so that's great. But can he catch the football? Or is he "a project" or what?
Then, they got a FB in the 6th. Really a FB? What's wrong with Lousaka Polite? Or maybe they want this guy to move to tight end? I have no idea, but I thought it was a bit of a head scratcher.
Your header should be called Douchebag Dave. You don't know what the hell you're talking about.
ReplyDeletewell, the Dolphins don't know what the hell they're doing, so I fit right in.
ReplyDeleteNo offense Dave, I visit your blog regularly and never post. I was just pissed at all the negativity that so-called Phins fans are ranting about on other blogs. The facts are that no draftee is a sure thing... you'll agree with me on that, I'm sure. How many stars are out there that were undrafted? Answer... a ton of them!! We filled immediate holes with the best rated people for those spots. The H-back/FB was rated a 4th rounder and is very versitile. The WR is a skinny 6'0" burner (not 5'7" like some of the other burners on the board were.) Pouncy is a must have... I wanted Mark Ingram, but this is the ONLY other pick I would've endorsed. As far as the other guys we selected, the Phins did their homework, and I hope they pay off.
ReplyDeleteNone taken.
ReplyDeleteBelieve me - I want nothing more than to have all the picks work out, and for the Phins to do good things. And as you may have seen in a previous post, I talk about what a crapshoot the draft is. You never know what will happen.
Pouncey may turn out to be great. But knowing the way the Dolphins management works, I am skeptical about how he will turn out.
So am I negative on the draft? You bet. We're a little better off, but still haven't solved our QB problem. And there are still holes on the roster. I know you can't fill them all in a single draft, but this is the hole they dug for themselves...
"Pouncey may turn out to be great. But knowing the way the Dolphins management works, I am skeptical about how he will turn out."
ReplyDeleteLong didn't turn out bad why would Pouncey?
Long was a bonafide #1 left tackle. I don't think there was much doubt in his ability.
ReplyDeletePouncey is a good player, but there are many detractors. And typically a team does not draft an interior lineman that high.
As for Dolphins management, this was more about their recent tribulations. That first year, Sparano put together a tremendous offensive line. The second year, he turned over a few players and it wasn't as good, then this year, he turned it over again and it was pretty mediocre. He's a line coach - how does that happen? Is it him, or the players?
