Its all about big money

As if there was any doubt, big football is all about big money.

We have been reminded of that over the last few days as "football factory" schools at the college level have been moving between and among conferences.  Why?  Because there's a larger pot of money in a bigger - and more nationally exposed - conference.

And while this isn't directly related to the NFL, they should be mindful of this as they considers their next move in the CBA negotiations.

Individual owners similarly want a big payday at the expense of the smaller market teams, and this can have huge impacts on the league on the whole.  What of the smaller markets?

A couple of notes

Brandon Marshall participated in a few plays of an OTA yesterday. He wanted to continue to impress his new teammates with his work effort, and looked generally like himself as he ran routes and caught balls. He says he's ahead of schedule with his recovery from the mysterious-o hip injury.

Anthony Fasano signed a new contract, after his stint as a RFA...oh great now we can watch him drop balls in 2010 as well. Super. Here's to hoping Sperry or Haynos can beat him out as the starter.

Uh, yeah

You have to give the guy credit for being passionate about his team. But when Stephen Ross tells reporters "I think in February we'll be playing in the Super Bowl" ya gotta wonder.

Didn't H Wayne say more or less the same thing a couple of years ago?

Plus, Ross went on to extoll Henne and told us that he hopes he becomes one of the greatest Dolphin QBs of all time.  Didn't we hear that from H as well?  And now I don't even remember who he was talking about.  Beck?  AJ Feeley?  Does it matter?
