Cause they weren't as good as the undrafted players. There are several undrafted players every year that turn out better than 1st round picks; see Davone Bess & Ted Ginn Jr.
What makes no sense to me is to expose Nate Ness to the open market and then place Will Allen on the IR.
No way Grant was playing better than the new guys we got. Clearly a move aimed at the future instead of winning now
