Hunh?

The commish made a few comments the other day.  Among them was one about how if the NFL went to 17 or 18 games, they still wouldn't start the season until after Labor Day, meaning the SuperBowl would be in mid-late February.  Am I missing something?  Does this make any sense at all?  Why not go ahead and play two regular season games before labor day?  You'd still have the turnout, because the pre-season games are all "sellouts" anyway, aren't they?  So, a couple of games are before people are settled in after the summer.  They'd still be entertaining.

Then, he went on to say that they're considering changing the draft to have the first round be on a Thursday night, the second and third on Friday, a few on Saturday night, and whatever is left on Sunday.  In other words, making it a multi-day event.  Or rather a multi-evening prime-time event.  I'm sorry, but I fail to see the logic in this...

You are "king sport"....mess around too much and you risk losing some of the popularity you currently enjoy.
