The "practice tent" that collapsed was a sad story. But what's worse is all the news that is coming out now - at least some of which is unconfirmed. Things like the Cowboys having applied to be a General Contractor just before the tent was built (so in effect they took responsibility for its build). The actual builder having a history of structures damaged in storms. And most notoriously, it wasn't inspected.
Assuming any or all of these are true then its sad that people were put in the position of seeking shelter inside it during a storm, and that some of them got hurt.
Let that be a lesson to all of us. We have structural reviews and building codes in the US, and that's the reason why an accident like this is big news - its unusual.
