In a previous post, I made some fun of Armando for calling we bloggers know-nothings, and I was particularly amused by his comment that he has to put out fires that we start.
On April Fools day, our friend Brian (the PhinPhantic) posted a humorous article quoting John Clayton, stating that the Dolphins would have to give back the draft pick to the Redskins if they re-signed JT.
If you read it carefully - and examine the links - you will see this is a carefully crafted joke. My hat goes off to Brian for this one.
Apparently, that was some scoop to several media outlets, and may have even fooled Armando.
CBS SportsLine and the USA Today each ran an article quoting this as fact.
I guess we bloggers do get noticed, don't we?
Here's a tip for you "professional" journalists: check your facts. You're paid to do just that. You got punked in an April Fools joke because you decided a juicy story based on what the industry calls "blowback" would be better than doing your homework!
