Our dear friend (the commish, naturally) will be suspending Vikings DTs Kevin and Pat Williams for 4 games for using a steroid masking agent.
Only....they didn't use the agent, and instead took a diuretic that had a similar compound not listed among the ingredients. And their appeal was denied because "we warned players about this product in 2006."
Sure. Take a swing at a guy and pull his hair and you get a measley fine. But take a diuretic that didn't have an ingredient listed and be accused of taking steroids by default, and get suspended for 4 games. Oh, and by the way, the last 4 of the season. When you're in the playoff chase.
That's just freaking stupid.
I wonder if it had been two Patriots players. They probably would have had their appeal reverse the decision.
