Another revelation: Matt Walsh claims he was at a game in Foxboro filming the signals, and that there was a guy from another team who was doing the same. He told Goodell the story, and the name of the team.
Goodell never mentioned that (of course), but was asked about it this week during a press conference. He said he wasn't told the name of the team, then backpedaled and said maybe he had, but there was no evidence to support the claim, so he didn't pursue it.
Just like he didn't pursue anything with the Patriots at first, until some media pressure forced his hand.
I know you don't want the money to suffer. But, this is disingenuos. You are not acting in the best interest of the sport, and this will come back to haunt you. TELL THE FREAKIN' TRUTH, already!
Incidentally, the story also says that the team was going to meet New England again, so it was likely to be the Dolphins, Colts, Jets, or Bills that he was talking about.
If it did turn out to be the Dolphins, my stance would not change. Cheating is cheating. Period.
Dave Wannstedt (coach at the time) declined comment, and Harvey Greene had to meet with Bryan Weidmeir before providing a no comment. How's that for humor?
