JETS AND DOLPHINS PLAY TO A 28-28 TIE

The clock showed no time remaining in sudden-death overtime when Pat Leahy's 48-yard field-goal attempt headed toward the Orange Bowl goalpost tonight. The kick was short and wide, the game was over and so was the strange mastery the New York Jets had held over the Dolphins. Although the 28-28 result preserved the Dolphins' undefeated season, after four victories, it did nothing for the Jets, who are now 1-3-1.
