This was Joey's fifth time playing on thanksgiving. The local media was trying to whoop everyone into a frenzy to boo Joey Harrington. They did. But, then, they also booed the home team.
Joey's record wasn't so good, and he had never thrown a TD pass in a thanksgiving game. He looked pretty good on this day, and he threw a couple of TD passes (though his first one wasn't actually a TD, of course).
And in the end, I believe he was the game's MVP. Most Valuable Phin.
So, maybe it was all about the team and coaching in Detroit, and he actually is a pretty good QB.
He did win Phil Simms' "Iron Award" and got a bite of momma Simms' pie.
