Cooler heads prevailed over the weekend, and the NFL and players' union decided to delay free agency an additional 3 days in order to get a deal done.
There's still a lot to discuss, but Paul Tagliabue knows this is critical to ensuring the continuing success of the NFL; so he is clearly working to try and get everyone to come to a reasonable agreement.
Its interesting because now not only are the owners arguing about revenue sharing, but Gene Upshaw is looking for a larger share of the pie for the players. The NFL has apparently given that through various means, but he's looking for one revenue stream to be at a particular level.
In the meantime, the Phins made another move to trim their payroll, releasing Junior Seau. Depending on how the agreement works out, they'll either be just above or just below the cap.
